Our Core Beliefs

What are core beliefs?

Core beliefs are rooted in principles that drive the ministry’s actions and decisions, such as evangelism, discipleship, and service. It is the understanding of the Word of God, a framework of faith and practices. Understanding and articulating these core beliefs is essential for a ministry to effectively communicate its mission and purpose. These are ours:

  1. We Believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God

We accept it as entirely trustworthy, incapable of failing, and free from error in all it affirms. Rooted in the perfection of God, this doctrine asserts that Scripture is the authoritative, divine revelation that guides believers without leading them astray. Scripture: Psalm 18:30 30As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. John 8:24 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

3. We Believe Jesus is the Savior of ALL People

This suggests that while Jesus saves all people, it is especially meaningful for those who have been given the gift of Faith to believe. Notice that God is the Savior of all people. The title of Savior can only apply if He indeed saves. In addition, the “especially of those who believe” clause is of most importance. This indicates that, although Jesus saves all people, as His chosen we have been give the advantage as presently seated with Him in heavenly places. Scripture: 1 Timonthy 4:9-10 (English Standard Version) 9 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. 10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. While it is true most "Christians" in Christendom believe ALL God purposed, spoke, and willed (Isaiah 46:10-11), He will do. Isaiah 46:10-11 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. They hypocritically deny that God's "will" to save all, 1 Timonthy 2:4, etc., WILL BE DONE. 1 Timonthy 2:4 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. We Believe God's full and entire "will" will be done. That God's Holy Word did not lie when it states in 2 Peter 3:9. 2 Peter 3:9 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting(willing) anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. We at The Word Church believe Him, do you?

5. We Believe it is Divine Authority

Because the Bible is “God-breathed”, it holds supreme authority over human lives, all creation and the entire universe both worlds seen and unseen. We understand while being penned by human authors, the Bible was superintended and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit to be the exact, reliable message God intended. Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (English Standard Version) 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

We Believe there’s One God, and Jesus Christ is he. There is no other God apart from Jesus Christ. Scripture: Isaiah 43:10 10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. John 1:1, 14 states the Word was God and became flesh John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Thomas declares, "My Lord and my God" (John 20:28). John 20:28 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Isaiah 9:6 calls the Messiah "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace “All prophesying the arrival of Jesus, God in the flesh." Isaiah 9:6 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus stated, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30), and used the divine name "I AM" (John 8:58). John 10:30 30 I and my Father are one. John 8:58 (Amplified) 58 Jesus replied, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am.” Jesus is described as the Creator (Colossians 1:15–17), forgives sins (Mark 2), and receives worship (Matthew 14:33). Colossians 1:15–17 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Mark 2:1-12 Matthew 14:33 33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. He is described as "God over all" in Romans 9:5 Romans 9:5 5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

2. We Believe Jesus is God Almighty

4. We Believe The Word of God is Trustworthy therefore reigns supreme in Reliability

The doctrine holds that God, being truthful, ensures His Word perfectly accomplishes His will. Scripture: Isaiah 55:11 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Hebrews 6:18 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

6. We Believe the Word of God is true concerning how we are to give under the Grace and truth as New Testament Believers

Free to give. We are cheerful givers who are free to be a blessing "…freely ye have received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8) Scripture: Matthew 10: 8 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 2 Corinthians 9:7 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

7. We Believe there is ONLY one true baptism that is able to cleanse us

We believe The Word is true according to Ephesians 4:5-6. Scripture: Ephesians 4:5-6 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. While many within Christendom hold the practices of the Baptisms of sprinkling and immersion in water. We believe there is ONLY one true baptism that is able to cleanse us. That is the baptism of fire in the Holy ghost! Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: We believe this only happens by the WORD OF GOD! This is the spiritual, fiery baptism with which our Lord’s words baptize and wash us. Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.
